..AASU commends the performer and condemns the detractors

The Presidency of the All-Africa Students’ Union, under the leadership of HE Osisiogu Osikenyi E., expressed solidarity with Nigeria’s Minister for Interiors – Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, stating that he is a leading force for good governance in Africa.

In a statement signed by AASU President and Executive Director to the Presidency, Mr. Abrhaley Arefaine Hailenchael, the Minister’s performance is commended, and the detractors are condemned.

The statement reads in full: “Calling a bluff of whose ox is gored; Nigeria’s Minister of Interior has dismantled all bottlenecks hindering swift issuance of passports to Nigerians, including clearing backlogs of passport issuance deficit, revolutionizing Nigeria’s Immigration System in just weeks – a feat that hitherto seemed impossible before the advent of the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We are perturbed by the obnoxious attempt by enemies of this commendable ‘Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Agenda’ to thwart the excellent strides in the Nigeria’s Ministry of Interior under Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo via spurious and clandestine allegations.

“Africa’s history has unfortunately had pages of attacks on performing young leaders such as Congolese Prime Minister – Patrice Emery Lumumba of Congo; Thomas Sankara, the 37-year-old President of Burkina Faso; Steve Biko – Advocate of black consciousness, and now our young Nigerian Minister who has been making young people on the continent proud from Parliament to Executive.

“In closing, we thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his firm leadership and discerning disposition; not swayed or manipulated by detractors who wish to substitute the best foot forward of his performing Renewed Hope Administration.

“May Minister, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo succeed; May the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeed; May The Federal Republic of Nigeria succeed!”
