The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), North-West, has congratulated the the Kaduna State Gov. Uba Sani and his Kebbi counterpart, Gov. Nasir Idris, over their Friday’s victory at the Supreme Court, against appeals by PDP candidates.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by Malam Musa Mailafiya-Mada, APC Zonal Publicity Secretary (North-West) and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, on Sunday.

The Supreme Court had on Friday affirmed the election of Uba Sani as the Governor of Kaduna State by upholding the Nov. 24, 2023 judgement of the Court of Appeal on the case.

In the same vein, the Apex Court affirmed the election of Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris.

The court held that it found no reason to set aside the verdicts of the Court of Appeal and the Kebbi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

It therefore dismissed the appeal filed by Aminu Bande of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mailafiya-Mada quoted the National Vice Chairman North-West Malam Garba Datti as saying that the ruling of the Supreme Court marked the end of a long legal battle that had gripped the states for months.

He described the judgement as a triumph for people of both Kaduna and Kebbi states who freely gave their votes to the party flag-bearers.

“I urge you to place partisan politics on the shelf and extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition to partner with you to make your states greater.

“The task ahead is daunting and you have to be focused on delivering your campaign promises,” the statement quoted Datti as saying.

“We equally commend the resoluteness and tenacity of the judiciary for its unwavering commitment to always remain on the side of Justice. (NAN)
