Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu and the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar have jointly appealed to the families of Maituta dynasty to continue imbibing the cherished qualities for which their patriarch was known for.

Ahmed Aliyu who made the appeal at a reunion reception organized by the Ibrahimu Maituta foundation, urged the descendants of Maituta to maintain their unity, and use their knowledge for the promotion of Islam and tolerance both in the State and beyond.

The governor who was represented at the occasion by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Haliru Dikko said he was impressed that the family remained committee to their
forefathers’ legacies by contributing to the development of humanity.

Adding to the appeal the Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar praised Maituta family for the foresight, describing it as a welcome development that should be sustained to promote unity amongst the family members.

 

While doing this, the Sultan also urged them to emulate their forefathers’ benevolence and use available resources at their disposal for humanity as well as promoting Islamic knowledge.

Speaking earlier, Dr Jabbi Kilgori who is the convener of the reunion, clarified that it was meant to promote unity and brotherhood spirit  among descendants  Ibrahim Maituta dynasty.

Dr Jabbi who is the Sayin Kilgiri and a Senior Councillor/Kingmaker at Sokoto Sultanate Council, Sokoto said the gathering was a rare opportunity for them.ro promote the brotherly love.

He further tasked all  members of the Maituta Dynasty to uphold the cherished legacies of their patriarch for whom they are grateful to be indentified with.

Speaking in his goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and Tourism,
Dr. Muktar Yawale Muhammed, thank God for being one of the family members, adding, their family will continue to strive of the virtues of honesty, selflessness dedication to humanity which they were known for.

Dr Yawale further divulged that the Ibrahimu Maituta family span across
Yabo Local Government of  Sokoto state to Zamfara, Jigawa and Kano states as well, hence making the reunion a very vibrant oppurnity for the sustainance of their unity.
