Ikechukwu Onunaku, the Nigerian rapper, has confirmed his divorce from Ella, his wife.
The couple tied the knot in May 2021.
However, rumours about their marriage hitting a rough patch went viral after the rapper shared a cryptic post on social media in November 2022.
Ikechukuw, in a recent interview with Daddy Freeze, the media personality, shed light on the reasons behind their split, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
When asked if it was a case of infidelity, the rapper clarified that it was not.
He said he faced issues like gaslighting, external influences, and feeling undervalued in the marriage.
He added that he tried his best to make the relationship work, but he was unappreciated.
“My wife and I are no longer together. We separated due to irreconcilable differences. It wasn’t over infidelity,” he said.
“I am the number one guy that would tell you instead of cheating on a relationship, scatter the relationship and go your single way and have what you want.
“There was too much gaslighting, too much looking for fault, too much listening to random people wey no know you dey tell you nonsense, and just a very messed up complex.
“Me, I no get time for madness, but when I am in love, I be woman rapper. So sometimes the things wey Killz dey nod off, Ike dey ignore them.
“And at one point, Ike could not deal with it anymore so Killz had to come in and protect him. And when Killz came to protect Ike, shawty realised how she had taken Ike for granted because she did not like Killz.
“I tried, I gave it every single thing that I could. The woman try emasculate me, she always made me feel like I was not enough.”
