Paris Saint-Germain clinched a record-extending 14th French Ligue 1 title on Wednesday night after defeating Lens 2-0 away from home, sealing yet another dominant domestic campaign.

The victory confirmed PSG’s status as champions of France once again, further underlining the club’s stranglehold on French football over the past decade.

Luis Enrique’s side delivered a composed and disciplined performance, overcoming stubborn resistance from Lens before asserting their superiority in the second half.

The breakthrough arrived in the 29th minute, when Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia calmly finished into the bottom corner after being set up by Ousmane Dembélé.

Lens created several chances during the contest and tested PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov on multiple occasions, but the visitors remained organised defensively while controlling possession for long spells.

PSG eventually sealed the victory deep into stoppage time, when substitute Ibrahim Mbaye unleashed a stunning first-time strike that came off the crossbar after receiving a pass from Désiré Doué.

The result capped another successful domestic season for PSG, who have continued to dominate Ligue 1 despite changes within the squad and managerial structure in recent years.

Under Luis Enrique, the Parisian club has blended youthful energy with experience, maintaining consistency throughout the campaign to stay ahead of their rivals in the title race.

The latest triumph further extends PSG’s record as the most successful club in French league history, reinforcing their grip on domestic football.

For Lens, the defeat ended hopes of delaying PSG’s celebrations, despite an energetic display in front of their home supporters.

Attention will now shift to whether PSG can complement their domestic success with continental glory, as they continue their pursuit of the UEFA Champions League.
