Paris Saint-Germain moved four points clear at the summit of Ligue 1 with a commanding 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Nantes on Wednesday.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted twice, first from the penalty spot in the 13th minute before adding a second early in the second half. Désiré Doué doubled the hosts’ advantage in between, as PSG rebounded swiftly from Sunday’s home defeat to Lyon – a result that had briefly raised hopes for chasing Lens.
“It was almost a perfect night,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique, who singled out the Georgian winger for praise. “For me, all year long, he’s been a top-level player. He has a quality in his character that shows in every match – that is very important.”
Luis Enrique made several changes to his starting line-up following the Lyon loss, restoring Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, João Neves and Warren Zaïre-Emery to the XI.
PSG remain on course for their 12th French title in 14 seasons. They visit Angers this weekend before hosting Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday. Their away fixture at Lens has been rescheduled for 13 May due to European commitments.
Nantes, now winless in seven matches, were without the suspended coach Vahid Halilhodžić, who is serving a four-match ban following an outburst over a refereeing decision. They sit second from bottom, five points adrift of the relegation play-off place with four games remaining.
