In a congratulatory message, the Special Adviser on Inter-Party Relations, Hon. Francis WayoFrancis Wayo, joined the people of Jema’a to felicitate with the council boss, describing him as a shining example of humility, dedication, and selfless service.

According to Wayo, Tanko has over the years demonstrated uncommon commitment to peacebuilding, unity, and community development. He said the council chairman’s accessibility and fairness had strengthened the bond between government and the people, giving renewed confidence in grassroots governance.

“Hon. Tanko has continued to place the people’s interest above personal gain. From security interventions to community empowerment and inclusive politics, his leadership has become a reference point in Southern Kaduna,” Wayo said.

Tanko, who assumed office with a promise to promote peace and security, is credited with initiating dialogue between communities and security agencies in Jema’a, a move that stakeholders say has helped reduce tension in a local government previously hit by conflict.

He is also known for supporting education and healthcare projects at the grassroots, empowering youths and women through skills acquisition programmes, and ensuring fair representation in political appointments.

“As he clocks 48, we celebrate not just a leader, but a brother, a mentor, and a bridge-builder whose contributions will remain indelible in the history of Jema’a,” Wayo added, praying that God grants him long life, wisdom, and strength to continue in service.

Born in Jema’a, Tanko rose through community service and active participation in local politics before emerging as council chairman. His style of leadership, which emphasizes consultation and inclusiveness, has earned him the nickname “the People’s Chairman.”
