Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, expressed his strong belief that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim governance in the state by 2027. His remarks came during the party’s state congress held in Makurdi on Thursday.

Ortom highlighted the enthusiasm and commitment shown by party members at the congress, viewing it as a clear signal of the PDP’s momentum to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC). He urged members to unite and operate cohesively to achieve this goal.

Senator Napoleon Bali, the Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee in Benue, echoed Ortom’s sentiments, affirming that the party is growing stronger within the state. Represented by committee secretary Mr. Osita Ogene, Bali emphasized the importance of a smooth congress without any disruptions.

Mr. David Amo, speaking on behalf of the Benue North East Senatorial District, noted the impressive turnout at the congress, which he described as proof of the PDP’s vitality in the region. Dr. Laha Dzever, representing Benue North West, asserted that the party is committed to advancing and reclaiming power from the APC in 2027, calling on PDP supporters to remain dedicated and work diligently.

Mr. Matthew Ire, speaking for the Benue South Senatorial District, declared that the PDP is the only viable political party in the area.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the newly elected members of the state working committee include Mr. Ezekiel Adaji as Chairman, Mr. Azua Ashongo as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Daniel Nyikwagh as Secretary, and Mr. Tivzua Zuana, among others. In his acceptance speech, Adaji expressed gratitude to party members for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the party and committed to uniting all dissatisfied members. (NAN)
