Inaugurating the two fire trucks marks the initiation of the first phase of a comprehensive reform agenda aimed at revitalizing the state’s fire service sector.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the fire service, stressing that the procurement of additional trucks signifies a pivotal step towards achieving this objective.

Governor Adeleke highlighted the dire need for reform in the fire service sector, citing the lack of adequate equipment and neglect as key challenges.

Emphasizing the crucial role of disaster management in safeguarding lives and property, he outlined plans for equipping personnel, implementing national standards, and fostering preventive practices across the state.

Acknowledging the collaborative effort required to bolster disaster preparedness, Governor Adeleke announced the formation of an inter-ministerial committee tasked with expediting the development of a comprehensive disaster preparedness management strategy.

This multi-agency approach underscores the government’s resolve to proactively address potential risks and mitigate their impact on communities.

Expressing gratitude for the governor’s initiative, State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr. Rasheed Aderibigbe, commended the efforts to revitalise the fire service.
