In a bid to ensure Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s victory at the November 16 Ondo Guber election, the Community Engagement for Lucky Aiyedatiwa (CELA) support group has launched a door-to-door movement across rural communities in Ondo state. The movement kicked off in Idanre local government and aims to engage residents, spreading the message of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa continuity agenda.
Convener Iwakun Adeolu expressed the group’s commitment to including rural communities in the governance of the state. The initiative seeks to understand the needs and desires of the communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns addressed by the government.
“We are delighted to hear positive feedback about Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration from our people,” said Iwakun. “The Governor is not only a good listener but also understands the responsibilities of leading a progressive state like ours. We urge our people to support the continuity of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s government, as it is the best course of action.”
Community leaders have expressed satisfaction with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s performance within a short period of time. They commend the initiative of prioritizing the interests of rural communities and appreciate the Governor’s willingness to visit and understand their challenges.
Chief Olofintuyi Rufus, leader of the Ipoba community, shared his gratitude, stating, “This is the first time a Governorship aspirant has shown interest in visiting us to understand our needs and challenges. We appreciate the Governor for his efforts and extend our support, pleading with him to help us address our concerns.”
Oba Omosebi Albert, the Alajowa of Ajowa, a traditional ruler, emphasized the importance of sustaining engagement with rural communities. He believes that by doing so, these communities can also benefit from the positive changes brought by good governance in the state.
The engagement will span across all 18 local government areas of the state, as announced by the Director of Media, Seun Aruwajoye. The aim is to ensure that no community is left behind and that the benefits of strong leadership are felt by all residents.
