The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated his uncle and former Secretary to the Edo State Government, Dr. Clement Alile, on his 80th birthday.

In a personal birthday message to the former SSG, the governor said: “I heartily congratulate my uncle and a distinguished scion of the Ogbeide-Oyo family, Dr. Clement Alile on the occasion of your 80th birthday anniversary.

“A pioneer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Veterinary Department, you laid a solid foundation for veterinary medicine practice and continue to inspire many till this day.”

He added: “While you served the state, veterinary services were at par with global standards and ranches established across the state were the best of its kind.

“You served meritoriously as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the Government of Jerry Useni and later as Secretary to the State Government under Governor John Odigie-Oyegun, distinguishing yourself as an astute and diligent administrator.

“A veteran veterinary expert, you remain active at the apex level of the Veterinary Association of Nigeria, providing guidance and direction to reposition the association for global competitiveness.”

“I wish you, dear uncle, very many happy returns in sound health.”
