The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has invited 22 players each to the national U-19 girls’ and U-18 boys’ training camps ahead of the 2026 African Junior Volleyball Championships in Egypt.

The camping programme commences Friday, 10 July 2026, at the High Performance Centre, with both teams beginning intensive preparations for the continental showpiece.

The invited athletes were selected from clubs competing in the Nigeria Premier Volleyball League, National Division One and Division Two Leagues. The Federation expressed confidence in the quality and readiness of the players, noting that they are in excellent competitive condition following the successful conclusion of the first phase of the 2026 National Volleyball League.

The technical crew is optimistic that both teams will secure qualification tickets to the FIVB World Championships.

Nigeria’s U-18 boys’ team enters the championship with an outstanding pedigree, having won the African title three consecutive times and represented the continent at the FIVB U-19 Boys’ World Championship on two occasions. The Federation believes the current squad possesses the quality, determination and competitive experience to sustain this impressive legacy, while the U-19 girls’ team is equally poised to make a strong impact on the continental stage.
