The Vice Chancellor, Nasarawa state University Keffi, professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has been honoured with merit and excellent leadership award presented to her by state correspondent of renown National print media outfit, the Blueprint Hausa version (Manhaja) John Dogo Wada.

The presentation of the award took place at the office of the Vice Chancellor, Senate Building of the institution in Keffi, Tuesday.

According to John Wada, the award was in recognition of the VC’s sacrifice and selfless service to the people particularly in the area of academic collaboration with local and foreign institutions to promote academic excellence.

“As a journalist based in Nasarawa state covering activities of all critical sectors including education which Nasarawa state University is among the areas of my coverage and have observed the tremendous achievements recorded within the short period of your leadership, I deemed it necessary to present the award to you in or order to encourage you to more”. He said.

The media practitioner, urged other leaders to emulate the leadership style of Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, this according him, will promote academic excellence and research.

Wada, called on the VC to regularly engage media in her activities, saying they are the only people that can inform and educate the public on her academic achievements.

Responding shortly after receiving the Award from the media guru, the Vice Chancellor, prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, apart from appreciating the Blueprint Hausa state correspondent for recognizing her contributions to the institution’s development and growth, she also maintained that, her leadership will not tolerate indiscipline and act truancy, corruption as well as unethical between staff and students.

She promised not to take the recognition for granted but rather use it to attract more development in to the institution and humanity just as she applauded a team of Journalists who always covering the activities of the university, urging them to improve by sustaining the tempo.

The university administrator, pledged to continue partnering the media who are the watch dog of the society to achieve set goal for development to thrive.

Highpoint of the event was official presentation of the award to the Vice Chancellor by John Dogo Wada.
