CP A.D. Ali, announced the successful rescue of a kidnapping victim in Abuja by the Kaduna State Police Command.

On January 18, 2024, operatives attached to the Kawo Divisional Headquarters, Kaduna, received a distress call regarding a kidnapping incident originating from Abuja.

Acting swiftly, the police intercepted a grey Toyota Hilux van suspected to be transporting the kidnappers and their victim.

A tense confrontation ensued as the kidnappers attempted to escape, leading to a gun duel.

The victim, identified as Segun Akinyemi, was successfully rescued during the exchange.

Chinaza Philip, a 28-year-old from Life Camp, Abuja, was apprehended, while three other accomplices managed to evade capture.

The successful operation not only rescued the victim but also led to the recovery of the victim’s vehicle and various weapons used by the kidnappers.

Items seized included two Retay G17 model pistols, one Beretta pistol, ten 9mm P.A.K ammunitions, and five 9mm special ammunitions.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was abducted on January 17, 2024, at approximately 1700 hours from his residence in Area 3 Garki, Abuja.

The kidnappers, including the captured Chinaza Philip, had plans to transport their victim to Kano before being intercepted by vigilant police operatives.
