The Nigeria Police Force, led by Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun, has implemented a nationwide ban on the use of Point of Sale (POS) machines within police stations and facilities.

This directive extends to all electronic mobile money transaction devices, addressing concerns over alleged illegal transactions and collusion with certain police operatives.

The decision, announced by Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, underscores the imperative to curb perceived corrupt practices and uphold discipline within the Force.

Despite prior directives, some Commands and Formations have disregarded the ban, prompting stern warnings from the IGP regarding potential sanctions.

The NPF emphasizes strict adherence to the ban, warning of disciplinary and criminal repercussions for officers and POS operators found violating the directive.

The ban aims to safeguard the integrity and security of police operations while preventing criminal intrusion through POS transactions.

The IGP underscores the need for strict compliance with the ban, signaling severe sanctions for non-compliance at all levels of command.
