He harped on harmonious living for peace and development of the state and the country at large.

“I want to appreciate you for this visit and for identifying with me on my emergence as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

“We must live together irrespective of our religious and other affiliations for Nasarawa state to develop.
“As God did not made a mistake to create us together irrespective of our backgrounds,” Jatau said.

The head of the state legislature said those fueling tribal and religious politics are not just self centred but are bent in undermining the progress of the state.

“Such sentiments must be discontinued,” he said.

Jatau called on the Imams to preach peace and unity, and pray for leaders for God’s direction in piloting the affairs of governance.

The speaker assured of his commitment to operate an open door policy and rule with the fear of God.
