The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that several terrorists were killed in precision airstrikes carried out on Monday in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. He noted that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has sustained intense military pressure on terrorist elements in the North-East.

According to Ejodame, the operation was driven by credible intelligence, corroborated by real-time surveillance and reconnaissance, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist fighters holed up in fortified structures and bunkers.

NAF aircraft engaged the targets with precision munitions, destroying the strongholds, neutralising several terrorists, and eliminating key logistics facilities—findings later confirmed by battle damage assessment.

“The sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade terrorist networks, leaving them increasingly exposed and disrupted, with mounting pressure forcing them into desperate and reactive actions,” Ejodame said.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to relentless, intelligence-led operations until all terrorist elements are completely neutralised.

“We remain committed to the protection of our personnel, the security of our nation, and the safety of all citizens. The NAF will continue to intensify precision engagements across the theatre, maintaining decisive operational pressure while adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm,” Aneke stated.
