Abuja-based jeweller, Markdajeweller Ltd, has signed an agreement with MISS 9JA to become the pageant’s Official Jewellery Partner.

The partnership, executed in Abuja, covers the inaugural season through to the national finale scheduled for May 29, 2027.

Mark Aniogor, founder of Markdajeweller, in a statement on Wednesday said the significance of the ring influenced his decision to accept the partnership.

According to him ,”Under the agreement, Markdajeweller will supply the official MISS 9JA crown and produce a signature solid gold signet ring for the reigning Queen.”

The jeweller will also have category exclusivity in jewellery and watchmaking throughout the season.

I will bear the cost of producing both pieces, the ring will be passed from one Queen to another, resized for each successor and worn during official engagements throughout her reign.

“A crown is easy to make impressive and hard to make meaningful,” Aniogor said.

He added, “It is not a trophy, it is an office. One woman wears it for a year and then it goes on her successor’s hand.”

The founder said designing a piece that could fit successive Queens while retaining the same meaning presented a unique challenge.

Also speaking, Adenike Isi Adeeko, Founder and Director of Partnerships at MISS 9JA, said the arrangement was intended to give the title a deeper sense of continuity.

“We are not handing a young woman a souvenir. We are handing her something that belonged to someone before her and will belong to someone after her,” Adeeko said.

The parties said the design concepts would only be released after the technical specifications had been agreed and approved.

They also agreed that images of the crown and ring would not be released before approval of the final designs.

MISS 9JA is expected to crown one Queen in each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory before bringing all 37 State Queens to Abuja for the national finale.

According to the organisers, entry is free and public voting will also be free, with votes not available for purchase.

Applications are scheduled to close on October 10, 2026, while voting will run from October 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027.

The national finale is scheduled to hold in Abuja on May 29, 2027.
