The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has urged the Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) to turn over a new leaf, lay down their arms, and respect the ruling of the Federal High Court, which recognises the leadership of Nenadi Usman.

In response to the court’s decision, Otti promised to forgive and reintegrate the Abure faction if they choose to “turn over a new leaf and adhere to the law.”

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti described the judgement as sound and expressed gratitude to those he referred to as champions of democracy for supporting the LP during challenging times.

The Governor called on those behind the frivolous litigations against the party to lay down their arms and respect the ruling, which he stated aligns with a previous decision from the Supreme Court.

Otti urged the national leadership of the Labour Party to view this court victory as an opportunity to revitalise the party, ensuring that peace, unity, and justice prevail in accordance with the party’s constitution and principles.
