Lafiya Program Inaugurate Community Charity Foundation At 18  LG’A Of Jigawa

‘Lafiya programm a UK funded project for Health and Human capital development has supported communities in 18 local government area of Jigawa state for establishment of “Wakaf Fundation” ( charity foundation) for the grassroots sustainable humanitarian intervention.

Speaking at the lunching of Wakaf Fundation in Auyo local government area of the state, the emir of Hadejia His Highness Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje sa’id, establishing such Fundation is part of cultural and religious belief of the area but unfortunately was not given a deserving attention in the past.

The emir described the support and mentoring given by Lafiya Program to Community for the establishment of the WAKAF as a significant intervention that reawakening the society to fulfill their civic,moral, humanitarian and religious responsibility.

” Islam made it compulsory for us to be human and our brothers keepers, supporting each others. while Zakkat and WAKAF are among major mechanisms established for poverty eradication, humanitarian intervention, promoting love and compassion between have and haven’t in the society “.

The emir than called on all members of the society to donate according to their ability for rising the fund that will be invested under the WAKAF which the proceed shall be use for charity support in the society.

During the lunching of WAKAF Fundation for Auto local government community, over ₦20 million was realized which expected to be invested under the supervision of Community Trustee.

In his speech the chairman of Auto WAKAF Fundation Malam Umar Nassarawa sa’id, the Fundation will primarily 1q focus in given Health/Education assisting to orphan and children of ‘ess privilege family and they will keep expanding the scope periodically according to the available resources.

According to the State Teem Leader of Lafiya Programm Jigawa state office Malam Aminu Alhassan said, the project is targeted to support the establishment of WAKAF Fundation in all the 27 local government area of the state and sofar they have succeed in facilitating it’s Inauguration in 18 Local Government.

He explained that, is given technical assistance and capacity building as well as advocacy support to the community members to organize the lunching of the WAKAF Fundation for sustainable community base charity intervention.
