A high-powered delegation comprising top military, political, and community leaders is expected to grace the ordination ceremony and book launch of Pastor Gideon Mutum scheduled to hold this weekend at the Cathedral of St. Andrew, Zonkwa, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Leading the distinguished guests is the wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, Mrs. Oghogho G. Musa, who is billed to attend the dual event alongside former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, and the serving Senator representing Kaduna South, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung.
Also expected at the ceremony are the Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dan Amos; Chairman of Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams; renowned lawyer and development advocate, Barr. Dr. Deborah Usman; and Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Elders Forum, Mr. Dare Akau and the Executive Chairman, Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Engr. Bege Joseph Gaiya.
The event, which is already drawing attention from religious and civil society circles in Southern Kaduna, will also feature the unveiling of a new book authored by Pastor Mutum titled “Rich Christians, Poor Nation.”
According to the organisers, the book critically examines the contradiction between personal wealth among Christian leaders and the prevailing poverty in their nations, calling for a paradigm shift in faith-driven leadership and public accountability.
Pastor Mutum, a respected voice in youth and faith-based advocacy, is being ordained for two decades of ministerial service and humanitarian outreach across communities in Northern Nigeria.
Speaking to Elanza News, a member of the planning committee described the event as “a historic moment for Southern Kaduna” and “a celebration of service, integrity, and visionary Christian leadership.”
Security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of attendees, while local church groups and community members are preparing to welcome dignitaries from across the state and beyond.
Elanza News reports that the ordination and book launch are scheduled for Sunday, June 29, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
