In a personally signed statement, Saraki said: “I am pleased to announce that, after thorough deliberations, we have arrived at a consensus candidate to fly our party’s flag in the forthcoming election—Engr. Kale Kawu.

“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the other aspirants who, in the supreme interest of our party and state, have graciously stepped down to support this consensus. This spirit of unity and selflessness will lead us to victory.

“I wish all our members, delegates, and supporters a successful, peaceful, and orderly gubernatorial primary.”

Kawu hails from Ilorin in Kwara Central Senatorial District, Elanza News reports.
