The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kajuru Local Government Area chapter, has commended the Chairman of the Kajuru Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, for his generosity in providing palliatives to council workers during the festive season.
In a letter dated December 24, 2024, and obtained by Citizenship in Kaduna on Saturday, the union expressed its appreciation for the Chairman’s efforts, highlighting the distribution of rice and cash to all workers within the local government.
The NLC hailed Hon. Madaki’s gesture, contrasting it with what it described as the neglect by others in similar positions during the Yuletide.
The union noted that the palliatives have significantly alleviated the financial burden of many workers’ households.
“Sir, as you did to the workers of Kajuru Local Government, we pray for Almighty God and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, to put smiles on your faces and those of your council members, just as you have done for us by surprise,” the letter read.
The union also urged other leaders to emulate Hon. Madaki’s example, emphasizing that such acts of kindness foster goodwill and motivate workers.
“We wish to write and appreciate you, your council members, and the management of Kajuru Local Government for putting smiles on the faces of all workers by distributing rice and cash during this festive period,” the statement added.
Hon. Madaki’s intervention has been lauded by many as a step towards addressing the economic challenges faced by workers, particularly during the holidays.
