The President of the African Beach Soccer Union, Mahmud Hadeja, has revealed that Kaduna is being considered to host the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) beach soccer qualifiers.

Discussions regarding international opportunities are already in progress, Hadeja confirmed, noting that the state has a strong track record of hosting major events.

“Kaduna has done it before, so why not a second time?” Hadeja said. He added that the venue boasts one of the most unique and premier beach soccer arenas on the entire African continent.

The Union president, who also serves as National Coordinator of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL), spoke shortly after the conclusion of the regular season’s second round phase, where the Kaduna Beach Soccer team emerged as winners at Murtala Muhammed Square.

Hadeja heavily commended the Kaduna State Government for providing world-class infrastructure at the venue, positioning the state to potentially host upcoming continental fixtures. He pointed to upgraded amenities, including a brand-new lighting system that has successfully allowed the league to introduce night games, as testament to the venue’s quality.

He also congratulated the Kaduna State beach soccer contingent for their active performance, which secured the best player award for the round of play.
