Kadunà—Kangimi Resorts galloped off it’s first Win as Georgian Cup 2023 Kaduna International Polo Tournament began on Tuesday at the prestigious Ahmadu Yakubu Polo Club House.

They defeated hard fighting Lintex Max Air 11-9 in a pulsating encounter that thrilled thousands of spectators and dignitaries.

The match which opened contest for Africa’s most prestigious polo trophy, Georgian Cup saw both teams battle for supremacy on the luscious green playing turf which was recently refurbished by the management of Kaduna Polo Club, led by its President, Alhaji Mohammed Babangida.

Earlier in the day on the second turf, five matches were played for the El Amin Cup.

In the opening match, 828 Mohali fell 3-7 to Zuma Nadabo.

Second match saw Glaso Ismanaf fall to 5-6 and half to Bichi Rahimis.

Katsîna Dan Kwari smashed opponents, Katsîna Gobarau 4-2 in sort of local derby in the third match.

Fourth game saw NAPA overcome scare from AA DY Farms who took a lead in the game, before it ended 8-6 and half.

Meanwhile, for matches billed for Wednesday, record highest winners of the Georgian Cup, Kaduna El Amin will be in action for the Georgian Cup.

Their opponents, are defending champions, Rubicon. All eyes will be on that game billed for 3:30pm
