In a bid to enhance security and protect the lives and property of citizens, the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative. A total of 150 vehicles and 500 motorcycles have been procured and commissioned for distribution to security agencies operating in the state.
During the unveiling ceremony, Governor Sani expressed his deep understanding of the challenges faced by security personnel, particularly in terms of mobility and the need to swiftly access remote areas. He emphasized the importance of equipping them with the necessary tools to carry out their duties effectively.
In line with his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people, Governor Sani also reiterated his call for legislative reform to establish a State Police force. This move would further enhance the security apparatus and enable a more coordinated approach in combating crime and maintaining law and order.
During the event, Governor Sani paid tribute to the brave security personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He stated, “Their memory will forever be etched in our hearts. To honor their legacy, I have directed the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs to name the Ministry’s Conference Hall after Lt. Col. AH Ali. He served as the Commanding Officer of the 198 Special Forces Battalion, contributing immensely to the security of Kaduna State before tragically losing his life along with his officers and soldiers in the South-South region. May their souls rest in peace.”
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, commended the Kaduna State government for its proactive approach in supporting the security agencies. He praised the donation of operational vehicles, stating that it will greatly enhance the agencies’ ability to respond swiftly and effectively to security challenges.
By prioritizing the welfare and equipment of security personnel, Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kaduna State. This strategic move is poised to strengthen the state’s security infrastructure, boost public confidence, and further position Kaduna as a safe haven for residents, investors, and visitors alike.
