Kaduna Ex-Council chair Wins Federal House of Representative Seat

Hon Dan Amos of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Feb.25 National Assembly elections for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Yunusa Umaru, who declared the result in Kafanchan on Monday, said Amos polled 32, 578 to defeat his closest rival, Mr Anto Usman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 26,793 votes.

Umaru stated that Avejagbi Moses of the Labour Party came third with 22, 979 votes while New Nigeria People’s Party’s Adamu Ransome came fourth with 1066 votes.

“Mr Dan Amos of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law by scoring the highest votes, is hereby declared the winner,” he added.

While in Kauru, the Returning Officer, Prof. Tahir Bayero of Ahmadu Bello University announced Hon Bashir Yusuf (PDP) as the winner for Kauru Federal House of Representative Seat with 19,985 votes to beat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate (APC), Hon. Mukhtat Zakari Chawai with16,811 while the Labour Party Candidate (LP) Dr. Isaac Zankhai Auta trailed with 8,426 votes.

In Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal House of Representative, the Returning Officer, Prof. David Idoko declared Hon. Amos Gwamna as the winner with 40,621 votes while the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Lawrence Clement polled 18,209 votes.
