In an interview with Jay On Air, the ‘Alcohol’ hitmaker said emerging artists face tougher challenges now to stand out in the music scene.
He explained that having quality music and management used to be enough, but today it requires additional effort, consistent visibility, and influencer-style strategies — such as collaborating with content creators and skit makers — to capture attention.
“I feel for artistes trying to break into the mainstream now because it takes a lot more. These days, you have to constantly be in everyone’s face,” he said.
“Before, if you had great music and good management with strong marketing, your chances of getting into the limelight were high. But now, it demands much more.
“You basically have to start acting like an influencer if you really want to get people’s attention as a new artiste.”
He added that new artists who struggle with maintaining a consistent online presence should find a practical, reliable method to stay consistent and remain visible.
“However, if an upcoming artiste cannot keep up with consistently creating content with streamers or skit makers, he or she has to find a system that works conveniently — something that can be done consistently. There is always a way,” he added.
