Information Minister Hosts Rescued Kaduna Journalists, Commends NSA Ribadu

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has warmly received the release of two journalists from Kaduna who were recently kidnapped from their homes.

The journalists, AbdulGafar Alabelewe of The Nation newspapers and AbdulRaheem Aodu of Blueprint newspapers, were brought back safely by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

During the meeting with the journalists, Minister Idris expressed his appreciation for the swift action taken by the security agencies in rescuing the victims.
He also extended his sympathies to the families of the journalists. The minister emphasized the commitment of the current administration, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the security agencies to ensure the safe return of all kidnapped individuals without any ransom payment.

NSA Ribadu, in his remarks, highlighted the successful joint efforts of the security agencies in locating and rescuing the five victims. He praised their dedication and efficiency in carrying out the search and rescue operation.

One of the rescued journalists, Mr. Alabelewe, expressed his gratitude to NSA Ribadu and his team for their prompt intervention. He spoke about the hope and confidence that the rescue mission instilled in him and his belief in the government’s determination to combat the issue of kidnapping. Mr. Alabelewe expressed his astonishment at being freed within a week of the abduction and thanked the government for taking swift action to ensure their release.

The successful rescue of the Kaduna journalists is a testament to the government’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens. The Information Minister’s commendation of the security agencies and his call for continued support and faith in the current administration reflect the government’s dedication to addressing the challenges posed by kidnapping in the country.
