The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State congratulates the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Jones Onyereri on his selection as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Party by our Governorship Candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

Our Party is elated by the choice of Onyereri, given that he stands out as a loyal party man, accomplished parliamentarian, seasoned administrator and scholar of repute whose contributions in various spheres of life are etched on the sands of time. He is indeed a round peg in a round hole.

Onyereri is a goal-oriented and purpose-driven leader. He has the language of politics and of the people, and his reach and tentacles especially within the grassroots of Orlu Zone are matchless.

Our Party has also noted the discomfort, or agony, of the outgoing governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and his goons since Dr. Onyereri was unveiled. They know their game is up. They have resorted to aggressive verbal wars and shadow-boxing which only betray their frustration and make their situation even more pathetic.

In the coming weeks and months, this widely-rejected, bloodthirsty and anti-people regime in Imo is expected to grow more restive and violent, which are the necessary indices of a collapsing dictatorship. But so far as Imo people are concerned, they must give way on November 11, 2023. This is a decided issue.
