A civic group, Zamfara is Our Hope, has commended former Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, for the swift completion of the Zamfara State House of Assembly complex, describing it as a significant milestone in the state’s development.
In a statement on Wednesday, the group’s spokesperson, Bilya Sa’adu Gusau, highlighted the project as a testament to Matawalle’s commitment to governance and infrastructural renewal.
“One of his standout achievements in infrastructure is the completion of the Zamfara State House of Assembly complex, a project he initiated and completed within a remarkably short period,” Gusau said.
The project, which had been neglected by previous administrations, was prioritized under Matawalle’s leadership as a symbol of his dedication to institutional growth.
According to Gusau, the modern legislative complex now serves as a hub for democratic activities and reflects the former governor’s focus on delivering tangible results.
“Under his leadership, Zamfara has seen significant improvements in peace, governance, and infrastructure, earning him accolades as a reformative leader dedicated to transforming the state’s trajectory in record time,” the statement added.
When Matawalle assumed office on May 29, 2019, the state faced widespread poverty, insecurity, and decaying infrastructure. Years of mismanagement had left a legacy of stalled and abandoned projects, prompting the new administration to embark on a mission to restore hope and redefine governance.
The completion of the legislative complex is among the projects credited with redefining the state’s development path, solidifying Matawalle’s reputation as a transformative leader during his tenure.
