In a bid to foster growth within local government areas, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, is calling upon Council Chairmen to embrace innovative ideas tailored to their unique circumstances.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, recently hosted a retreat for the 25 Council Chairmen of the state at the Niger State Lodge in Abuja.

The event, organized by the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, centred around the theme “Empowering Local Government Leaders for Sustainable Development: Strategies, Challenges, and Opportunities.”

Governor Umaru Bago underlined the vital role of innovative thinking in driving progress at the local level.

He urged the Council Chairmen to think creatively and explore novel approaches to stimulate their local economies, capitalizing on their unique strengths and advantages.

Furthermore, Governor Bago stressed the significance of long-term planning.

He provided valuable insights on how Council Chairmen can develop sustainable economic growth within their areas.

Governor Bago encouraged the Council Chairmen to establish robust collaborations with the State government and other stakeholders in their pursuit of local development.
