The implementation period for the supplementary budget will run until May 31, 2026, ensuring adequate time for project execution and fiscal adjustments.

The newly approved budget seeks to bridge funding gaps in vital sectors such as security, infrastructure, and economic development, while also mitigating the effects of inflation and exchange rate fluctuations on ongoing initiatives.

A report by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation noted that the supplementary allocation will empower the government to tackle emerging economic and security concerns, align spending with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), and fast-track strategic development projects across the state.

Following this approval, Taraba State’s total 2025 budget size rises to ₦574.8 billion, with capital projects representing 68.9% and recurrent expenditure making up 31.1%.

The Committee further called on the executive arm to uphold transparency, accountability, and prompt disbursement of funds to ensure the supplementary budget achieves its intended objectives.1
