Taraba state residents have resolved to formally tender an apology to ex- governor Darius Ishaku over initial criticism and the abysmal performance of governor Agbu Kefas in the state.

Ishaku, the immediate past governor of Taraba had faced huge criticism over poor performance while serving as governor.

Meanwhile, the residents after a critical analysis of governor Agbu Kefas administration after two years, they resolved to tender a formal apology to the then governor, noting that Ishaku’s performance was unprecedented considering the abysmal performance of Kefas’ administration.

“After a critical look at the governor Agbu Kefas’ administration, we have resolved to tender a formal apology to ex- governor Darius Ishaku for initially criticising his government. We thought Ishaku was the poorest performing governor, not knowing we were coming to see the worst ever in the history of Nigeria”  Mr. Thomas Abu, Zanu Abel and Sadiq Abubaka, stated.

“During the first two years of the then governor Darius Ishaku, he initiated life changing projects like, the Mararaba Lacheke Kpantisawa road, the Magami road network, the Taraba green House project, revival of the Taraba Tom Oil, the Jalingo Kona road, 186 water Borehol across commurnities, the reconstruction of the Wukari general hospital and many others.

We saw all these projects as under performance, considering what governors like Nyson Woke, Nasiru El-rufai and others were doing. It’s unfortunate that today in Taraba, there is no single project going on, or has been initiated by governor Agbu Kefas.

“We need to formally apologize to Darius to save ourselves from posterity. Under governor Kefas, we have heard a lot of promises but non has been kept to.

“This is the first time we are witnessing this kind of abysmal government in the history of Nigeria among governors. The debt profile of Taraba has worsened to a point that the governor has resulted to bond.

“You we agree with us that governance is suffering in Taraba. The governor hardly stay in Taraba for three days. Even when over 30 people were killed in Karim Lamido and a mass burial was to be conducted, the governor jetted out of the state as usual.

“For two years now, we only watched other state governors Commissioned projects in their states. We have no project going on, even the ones Darius Ishaku left are not been attended to.

“As we mobilize to apologize to ex-governor Darius Ishaku, we also pray God to touch governor Agbu Kefas’ heart to forget the acquisition of more wealth and landed property across Jalingo and focus on true governance that would impact positively on the lives of Tarabans, and change the state underdevelop status to attract progressive minds”. The residents stated.
