Fire Guts Zamfara Governor Lawal’s Residence In Gusau

A fire broke out at the residence of the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, in Gusau, the state capital, at about 7:20pm on Wednesday, prompting the immediate deployment of firefighters to the property.

The inferno reportedly affected a security room within the governor’s residence, while personnel of the Zamfara State Fire Service worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other sections of the building.

The Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Fire Service Board, Engr. Bello Sani Gusau, monitored the firefighting operation at the governor’s residence.

Speaking with journalists in Gusau, Sani confirmed that a fire incident had occurred at the residence.

He said firefighters were already on the ground working to bring the situation under control.

He said, “There was an inferno at the Governor’s residence, and my team is currently working to contain it.”

An eyewitness, Sadiq, said the fire affected a security room within the residence.

According to him, firefighters were making efforts to prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the governor’s house.

The cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

There was also no immediate official statement on the extent of damage caused by the incident.
