A devastating fire has engulfed the Enyimba FM building, which also accommodates Rose and Legend FM stations, managed by Empau Communications Limited.

Reports indicate that the blaze erupted in the Enyimba TV section around 9:30 PM on Saturday evening, rapidly spreading throughout the entire facility located on Margaret Avenue in Aba.

In a statement released on Sunday, the management of Empau Communications confirmed the incident, detailing that the fire destroyed essential radio and television transmission equipment.

As a result of the fire, all three radio stations—Enyimba 94.3 FM, Legend 98.3 FM, and Rose 101.9 FM—have been forced off the air. The management stated that they will take this opportunity to assess and investigate the cause of the fire.

“We regret to announce that our three stations were impacted by a catastrophic fire incident on Saturday, November 2, at approximately 9:30 PM,” the statement read.

The management expressed profound gratitude for the prompt response and support from the community that aided in controlling the fire.

They were relieved to report that “all staff members are safe and unharmed” and assured listeners that they would provide regular updates on their recovery efforts as they strive to resume broadcasting as soon as possible.
