Jennifer Edema Elohor, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has suffered a harrowing assault at the hands of operatives from the Operation Udo Ga-Achi, commonly known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, in Anambra State.
A disturbing video of the incident, which reportedly took place in July 2025, captures the moment armed members of the vigilante group invaded a lodge housing corps members in Anambra State, where they assaulted Elohor and several of her colleagues.
In the video, shared widely on Monday, vigilante operatives are seen violently beating Elohor, stripping her of her clothes, and brandishing firearms while subjecting her to derogatory remarks.
The Haven360 Foundation, an organization advocating for the victims, stated that the assault occurred on July 23, 2025, when the vigilante members accused the corps members of cybercrime (referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo”), despite their immediate presentation of uniforms and identification cards.
The foundation condemned the incident as a severe violation of human rights and urged the Anambra State Government to take action against the assailants.
Additionally, it called on the Federal Government to intervene, ensuring justice is served, while also demanding reparations and compensation for the victims.
In a statement, the foundation expressed, “We unequivocally condemn the brutal assault and the violation of the rights of NYSC members by the operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, or ‘Agunechemba Vigilante Group’ in Anambra State.
“On July 23, 2025, these state-affiliated individuals invaded the corps members’ lodge, wrongfully accusing them of being involved in cybercrime, despite their immediate presentation of NYSC identification cards and uniforms.
“The attack was especially abhorrent regarding Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped, and left exposed, sustaining significant injuries.
“The victims endured unspeakable humiliation, including sexually degrading threats and actions.”
