Alh. Hussaini Abubakar Agayi, the IOUNV Global Peace Diplomat in Nigeria, while presenting the the award in Abuja, said the presentation of the Peace Medal Award on SDGs 16 & 17 as Global Peace Diplomat is part of the IOUNV’s commemoration of the Internal Day of Tolerance.

He said IOUNV recognises Adamu Wanki’s outstanding contribution and dedication to nation building, good governance, peace and service to humanity over the years which, he said, added credibility and facelift to the federal government’s led governance on peace.

Hussaini Abubakar Agayi said the IOUNV is a non-governmental organization registered with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, a civil society organization which is also an official partner of the SDGs.

He said the primary objective of IOUNV is also to promote UN peace objectives and the ideas of community volunteerism, and the award to Alh. Adamu Wanki is coming ahead of the forthcoming 2025 International Day of Tolerance.

Alh. Adamu Wanki, while accepting the award, thanked IOUNV for the recognition and confidence in him which he said will spur him to do more for the community and nation in general.
