The Oodua Integrity Group has petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over allegations that the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria retained a retired staff member to continue questionable activities within the agency.

In a statement by its Head of Investigation, Olawale Olaniyi, the group alleged that the chairman provided an office for Bulama Abba Dawuribe, who recently retired from service, to “continue their shoddy deals of awarding services to preferred providers.”

Olaniyi claimed that Bulama had effectively taken over the role of the chairman’s brother, who was previously sent out of the commission’s premises, insisting that “fronting business is what Bulama is doing for the chairman.”

The group urged the President to intervene by directing the NAHCON chairman to disengage Bulama immediately and shut down the office allegedly created for him.

It stressed that the development undermined transparency in the commission and called for urgent corrective action.
