Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, announced the initiative during an emergency meeting with area commanders, divisional police officers, and heads of tactical units, according to a statement on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh.

Mr Sanusi described the move as a decisive step to strengthen discipline, enhance welfare, and raise operational efficiency. He directed the command’s Medical Director, ACP (Dr.) Ifayase Olabanji Akinola, alongside the Police Counselling Unit, to oversee the exercise.

“The exercise, which will begin with junior officers on Monday, 4th May 2026, is aimed at enhancing emotional stability, sound judgment, and overall performance, both on and off duty,” the statement read.

The commissioner reaffirmed the need for the highest professional standards, warning against any misconduct that could damage the image of the Nigeria Police Force. He held senior officers accountable for infractions by their subordinates and ordered all senior officers to return to their posts immediately to sensitise their teams.

Detailed compliance reports, he said, must be submitted to the command headquarters.

The FCT Police Command also urged the public to remain law-abiding and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via the command’s emergency lines.
