In a shocking turn of events, Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, a former member of the House of Representatives from Nasarawa State, alongside his wife, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen. The abduction took place on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, in the Akwanga Local Government Area while the couple was traveling from Jos to Abuja.
A family insider confirmed the distressing news, revealing that the gunmen have made contact with the family, demanding a substantial ransom for their release. During the attack, a police escort, Abdul Hassan, who was assigned to protect Kigbu, was tragically killed by the assailants.
Attempts to obtain a statement from law enforcement regarding this incident have so far been unsuccessful.
