A former two-term Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Hon. Nasara Rabo, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing personal reasons for his decision.

Rabo, who began his political career as a councillor representing Iddah Ward under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), made the announcement in a letter obtained by the ELANZA NEWS on Saturday.

His resignation marks a significant political move in the area, considering his long-standing role and influence in grassroots politics within Southern Kaduna.

In a brief statement confirming his resignation, Rabo said his decision was informed by personal convictions. However, he did not disclose whether he plans to join another political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I have taken this decision after wide consultations and based on personal reasons,” he said.

Sources close to the former chairman say the move may not be unconnected to recent political realignments and internal party dynamics at the local and state levels.

Rabo served as chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council for two consecutive terms and was widely regarded as a strong mobilizer for the APC during its formative years in the state.

His exit adds to a growing list of resignations and defections from the APC in Kaduna State amid rising internal disputes and pre-election maneuverings.

Efforts to reach APC party officials in the local government for a reaction were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
