Hon. Yahaya Maigida, who previously represented Katari Ward in Kachia Local Government Area, is vying to become the next representative for Kachia Constituency.

Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms at the party secretariat in Kaduna on Friday, Maigida said his decision was rooted in a desire to strengthen grassroots representation and tackle the pressing challenges facing his community.

“I have listened to the concerns of our people over the years, and I believe the time has come to provide a stronger voice for Kachia at the state assembly,” he said.

He noted that his experience in local governance had equipped him to deliver effective representation if elected.

“Having served at the grassroots level, I understand the realities our people face daily—from infrastructure deficits to security issues and youth unemployment. These challenges demand practical legislative attention,” Maigida stated.

Explaining his choice of the APC platform, he said the party offered a viable structure to realise his vision for the constituency.

“The APC provides a platform that connects leadership with the people. I am confident that through this party, we can pursue policies that bring development closer to our communities,” he added.

Maigida also called for unity and issue-based politics as the election season approaches.

“This is not the time for division. It is a time to come together, engage constructively, and focus on solutions that will improve the lives of our people,” he said.

He further urged cohesion and internal democracy as aspirants intensify consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the primaries.

Elanza News reports that Maigida’s entry adds to the growing list of contenders for legislative seats, underscoring what analysts describe as an early start to political manoeuvring in Kaduna State.
