As anticipation builds for the FIFA World Cup 2026, East Point, Atlanta, is being positioned as a prime destination for football fans, tourists, investors, and global stakeholders.

The East Point Convention and Visitors Bureau is championing the city’s strategic advantages—chief among them its location just minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs. With Atlanta set to host matches, East Point offers an ideal base combining Southern hospitality, cultural diversity, and modern urban convenience.

During a visit to the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism in September 2025, Chantel Ross Francois, President of the East Point Convention and Visitors Bureau, underscored the city’s proximity to downtown Atlanta and key World Cup venues. She noted seamless transport links, varied accommodation, and a growing hospitality sector ready to welcome international visitors.

Beyond logistics, Francois said East Point delivers a rich cultural experience—local cuisine, arts, music, and historic landmarks that reflect Atlanta’s heritage. “Our community celebrates diversity, creativity, and global connection,” she added, “values that align with the essence of the FIFA World Cup.”

The Bureau has extended an open invitation to football enthusiasts, travellers, investors, and global citizens.

“Whether you are coming for the matches, exploring business opportunities, or simply seeking the energy of the world’s greatest sporting event, East Point offers a welcoming environment where memories are created and meaningful connections are built,” Francois said.

She listed the city’s key advantages: strategic proximity to venues and the airport, affordable and diverse lodgings, vibrant cultural and entertainment offerings, and a safe, accessible, visitor-friendly atmosphere.

“As the world unites through sport, East Point invites you to be part of history,” she added. “Come for the games, stay for the experience, and discover why East Point is more than a destination—it is your home for FIFA World Cup 2026.”

With billions set to follow the tournament, East Point aims to serve as a meeting point for cultures, innovation, business, and lasting memories. In an era of global uncertainty, the Bureau noted, football’s power to unite across nationality, language, race, or belief has never been more vital.

Whether attending matches, reuniting with loved ones, exploring the region, or forging new business ties, visitors can expect an experience that extends far beyond the pitch. The FIFA World Cup remains one of humanity’s greatest gatherings—a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and excellence.
