The Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) in wee hours of Friday reportedly attacked a military base with many soldiers feared killed in Ngamdu, along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, in Kaga local government area of Borno State.

It was gathered that the ISWAP terrorists stormed the Ngamdu military super camp at about 2am and opened fire on soldiers on duty.

According to the sources, the military has now blocked the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, leaving hundreds of passengers and motorists stranded.

“Reports indicates that the insurgents launched a late night attack on the military super camp in Ngamdu inflicting casualties on personnel. Early this morning, military ambulance conveyed some injured soldiers to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu,” the source said.
