JIGAWA —The Joint National Association Of Peoples With Disabilities (JONAPWD) Jigawa state chapter has elected new executives to heads it’s affairs for the next three years.
The new executives emerged during the maiden state convention/election held in Dutse capital yesterday.
Speaking while declaring the convention open, the outgoing chairman of the association Comrade Muhammad Usman Sa’id, the association comprised Seven clusters of disable groups.
Mr Usman narrated that, during his tenure they were able to championed the adoption of social inclusion policy under which the state government approved 5 percent allocation of any empowerment or recruitment slot to disable person’s.
Comrade Usman added that, they also worked in collaboration with donor partners and other civil societies in advocating and actualizing the lunched oh Disable Trust Fund in the state.
” Though we have some ‘little challenges in remitting the workers contribution to the Trust Fund account however I do hope the new executives will join hands and work hards with all stakeholders to address the challenge”
” We have had a very challenging experience in starring the affairs of these association, but with support and cooperation of all members we were able to surmounted the challenges and move the union forward”
“Every one is bear witness on how we promote and protect the interest of our peoples at public and private sector, I hope the new executives will go through our achievement and shortcomings to learn how to build up from where we stopped” Comrade Usman stated
In his acceptance speech the new Chairman of the association Hon Adamu Jigawar Tsada promised to work in collaboration with all stakeholders including the outgoing executives for taking the association to the next level.
