The Concerned Christian Youth Forum has vowed to no longer tolerate what it calls “twisted narratives” and “false allegations” spread by content creators and bloggers targeting church leaders to boost their online presence.

In a statement, the Forum’s Convener, James Paul Adama, defended the integrity of Christian leaders, describing them as individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving God and the global Christian community.

The statement comes in response to recent claims by Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministry International, a prominent church based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Ibiyeomie alleged that his messages are being distorted by content creators to fuel criticism against him and his ministry.

Pastor Ibiyeomie warned that such actions would face consequences, a stance the Forum strongly supports.

“We stand firmly behind this decision, recognising the immense harm caused by these unscrupulous practices,” Adama said.

The Forum condemned the spread of misinformation, accusing bloggers and content creators of exploiting religious narratives for profit.

“These individuals are far from the truth and do not deserve to be targets of such slanderous attacks,” the statement read.

Describing the trend as a “deceitful enterprise,” the Forum urged the Federal Government to address the issue with urgency, arguing that malicious publications undermine Nigeria’s religious values and beliefs.

The group also called on the public to exercise caution when consuming online content and to be wary of those profiting from misinformation.

“We will continue to support efforts to eradicate this abuse and ensure our faith is protected from such malicious acts,” the Forum stated, pledging to combat the spread of false narratives.
