The Director General of the Labour Party Directorate of Mobilization and Integration (DMI), Hon. Marcel Ngogbehie, has received widespread commendations from party stakeholders, governance advocates, and diaspora supporters as he marks his birthday, with many highlighting his growing influence in grassroots political mobilisation and citizen engagement.

In a goodwill message, the Director of the Good Governance Institute, Vera Daniel, described Ngogbehie as a leader of “vision, integrity, and unwavering dedication,” noting that his strategic direction and collaborative leadership have strengthened the Directorate’s mandate.

She praised his ability to navigate the complexities of public service with firmness and wisdom, adding that his passion for service continues to inspire colleagues and set a standard for excellence.

Similarly, the Imo State Directorate of Mobilization and Integration, in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Ladykay Iwunze, lauded Ngogbehie’s leadership, describing it as instrumental in uniting members, strengthening internal structures, and advancing citizen participation in governance.

“Your leadership has been a guiding light, uniting people, strengthening structures, and advancing the noble ideals of citizen participation in governance, mobilization and integration,” the statement read.

Beyond the accolades, Ngogbehie’s political profile has been shaped by his active role in mass mobilisation efforts. He chaired and coordinated the group behind the first One-Million Man March, alongside several other citizen-driven campaigns aimed at increasing public participation in governance.

Further recognition came from the Labour Party diaspora community, which described him as a “political decider” with strong charisma and the capacity to mobilise voters and supporters across different demographics.

A founding member of the Obidient Movement, Ngogbehie played a key role in the grassroots-driven political wave that influenced the outcome and dynamics of the 2023 general elections.

At the national level, Labour Party National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, also acknowledged his contributions, describing him as a dependable ally who worked closely with the party leadership, campaign organisation, and Obidient support groups. Abure specifically noted his role in coordinating the party’s first leadership summit held in 2022 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Currently serving as Director General of the DMI at the party’s national headquarters, Ngogbehie is widely regarded as a central figure in the Labour Party’s grassroots engagement and electoral strategy.

Party stakeholders expressed confidence that his continued leadership will further consolidate the party’s mobilisation strength and position it strongly ahead of future elections.
