The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, led by Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, has expressed deep concern over this distressing event.

This unfortunate incident took place within the premises of St. Raymond Catholic Church Damba, Gusau, Zamfara State, where Fr. Mikah serves as the Parish Priest.
The Diocese, through its acting Chancellor, Very Revd. Fr. Nuhu Iliya, has urged the public to join in prayer for the quick and safe release of Fr. Mikah.

In a statement, the Diocese strongly condemned this act of violence and called upon all Christ’s faithful and people of goodwill to unite in prayer.
The powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests, has been sought to ensure the speedy release of Fr. Mikah from the clutches of his abductors.

The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto is deeply saddened by this incident, which highlights the growing security challenges faced by religious communities.
Elanza News reports that this is a reminder of the need for vigilance and enhanced security measures to protect the lives and well-being of not only religious leaders, but Nigerians wherever they may be.

The Diocese, in collaboration with relevant security agencies, is working tirelessly to secure the release of Fr. Mikah and bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
The safety and welfare of all priests and religious leaders remain a top priority for the Catholic Church in Sokoto.
