Oyo State – The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has congratulated Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde on the safe release of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted from the Orire community.
In a statement signed by National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantale, and issued by National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the party extended its gratitude to Nigerians for their prayers and supplications during the victims’ weeks-long detention.
The APM urged the Federal Government to undertake a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s security architecture. It called on the present administration to prioritise securing the freedom of all other abducted citizens, particularly those still in captivity across the North-East, North-West, and other parts of the country.
Describing the rescue as a testament to sound governance, Dantale praised Mr Makinde’s deft handling of the crisis throughout the harrowing period, asserting that the outcome underscores the leadership acumen displayed by the Governor.
